The Friends of St Helen's

The Friends of St Helen's was set up in 2005 and has charitable status.

The principal objective of The Friends of St Helen's (FOSH) is to provide funds to maintain the fabric of St Helen's Church and the way in which this is done is by annual subscriptions and fund raising events, which are managed by a committee.  The monies we have raised over the last seven/eight years are invested in the Church of England Investment Fund, which has been beneficial for our savings.  Recently, we have contributed from those savings towards the cost of a new church roof, following the theft of lead from the roof.

The fund raising events are held once or twice a year.  These have included walks through Escrick Park Estate, a talk on the hisory of the church and the the village of Escrick, a talk given by a former captain of the England Rugby Team about his experiences together with a sports quiz, concerts by the Beningbrough Singers and York Minster Girls' Choir and our annual quiz, which has become a popular event.

New subscribers are always welcome.  Below is a list of names and telephone numbers of the committee members, so please get in touch with one of us if you are interested in becoming a member of Friends of St Helen's.
